SANDRA MILLER,
FLUTIST
Sandra, a native of Philadelphia and a graduate of the Curtis Institute
of Music, has been the recipient of a Solo Recitalist's Fellowship
from the National Endowment for the Arts, First Prize in the Bodky
Competition for Early Music, and a New York recital debut sponsored
by the Concert Artists Guild. Ms. Miller has toured the United States,
England, Germany, Canada, and Mexico with Concert Royal, of which
she is Associate Director, and has given master classes throughout
the US and in Brazil, as the recipient of a travel grant from the
Brazilian?American Institute in Rio de Janeiro. In addition to solo
recitals, Ms. Miller has appeared as soloist with the Smithsonian
Chamber Players, American Bach Soloists, the Orchestra of the Old
Fairfield Academy, the New York Collegium and the Boston Early Music
Festival Orchestra. Ms. Miller's commitment to teaching is reflected
by her long-standing tenure as Professor (Emeritus) of Music at the
Purchase College Conservatory of Music (SUNY). In addition, she has
served as instructor of baroque flute at the Mannes College of Music,
at the New England Conservatory of Music, in the City University of
New York's doctoral program and as Kulas Visiting Artist at Case Western
Reserve University. Her solo recordings include the complete Bach
flute sonatas and, on six- and eight-keyed classical flutes, the three
Mozart concertos. |
